Description: Dear Colleague,
The current programmatic approach to drug development has not been keeping pace with advances in science and medicine. In an effort to modernize clinical research, the FDA has encouraged the pharmaceutical industry to shift from empirical to quantitative evaluation in the early stages of research. In response, many companies have worked to implement PK/PD modeling techniques into their development process, but have not yet realized the benefits of a more widespread application, incorporating in silico, in vitro, in vivo, and genomic modeling as well.
The adoption of model based drug development has been encouraged by both the FDA and PhRMA as a way to reduce the costs and time commitment of drug development by up to 50%. This two day conference brings together industry leaders to discuss new techniques to expand the use of modeling in bridging the gap between discovery and regulated research.

Description: In today's healthcare environment, many patients are uninsured, underinsured, or are simply unable to afford the medications that they require. In order to combat the problem of inaccessible medications to low income individuals and families, a vast number of pharmaceutical companies offer patient assistance programs (PAPs) that provide medical products for free or at a discount to those who qualify. PAPs typically require a doctor's approval and proof of financial status. Corporate programs, funded and operated by the manufacturers, and foundation programs, which are run through independent, non-profit organizations funded by product manufacturers, are two of the major ways that patient assistant programs are designed and implemented.
Most manufacturers find that while there are many benefits of offering PAPs, this service can be costly to administer. In addition, the regulatory environment is complex, especially since the introduction of Medicare Part D. Companies must continually mind the rules as they fight to preserve a free-market healthcare system by providing medications to people who cannot afford to pay for them.
This conference will arm pharmaceutical companies with methods to maximize enrollment in their PAPs. Further, companies will learn how to run their programs more efficiently - cutting costs while maintaining quality. Through partnerships with nonprofit and government organizations, the industry can further position itself to most effectively provide vital medications to people in need.

Description: Dear Colleague,
The Emerging Global Electronic Submission Standards conference will provide insight into the efficiencies of using eSubmissions as an alternative to paper. The eCTD, the electronic submission format accepted by the US, Japan, Canada, and most of Europe has not only greened the submission process but also has provided a preferable information sharing platform for drug development companies and health officials to communicate during the submission lifecycle.
This event will examine operational aspects such as the internal steps necessary for creating submission ready documents and content management as well as foward-looking issues such as eCTD alternatives and the progression of global standardization. Whether your company is beginning its eSubmission efforts or has already established a functional internal program, this event will provide a valuable resource for achieving product approval.

Description: Dear Colleague,
Oncology is the only therapeutic area to show consistent growth in recent decades. In spite of the enormous time and financial commitment of many pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, the attrition rates for these drugs have remained well above the industry standard. The FDA, NIH, and NCI as well as multiple professional societies and consortia have worked to advance the techniques used in the development of these compounds, but this collaboration has not moved as quickly as hoped in introducing new drugs into this market. ExL Pharma's Partnering in Oncology Clinical Trials addresses best practices in maximizing partnerships with stakeholders in oncology research. Beyond improving the quality of the research, engaging partners in clinical research is an effective tool in cutting costs and timelines. Whether governmental or non-governmental organizations, every party in oncology clinical research approaches the research process in a different way, and with all involved parties represented at this event, new best practices can be shared and processes improved.

Description: Participate in an Industry and FDA Conference to Address the Data Necessary to Provide Assurance of Comparability for Manufacturing Changes. During the lifetime of all products, there is a need to make changes in production methods, the impact of which must be evaluated for quality purposes as well as for submission to regulatory authorities. This is especially important for biotechnology-derived products whose characteristics are closely related to the manufacturing process. The FDA requires information to establish comparability between current products and products following manufacturing changes. Depending on the change, in vitro comparisons, animal data, clinical data, or some combination of these areas, may be necessary. Featured topics will include: Characterization of changes in cell lines, process scale, formulation/presentation and the comparative data necessary to support these changes; Discussion of in vitro biochemical, preclinical (pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, toxicology, immunogenicity), or clinical data needed for some changes and value of these data; and Case studies and the data requested by regulatory authorities.
